Brief Biography: 

Laura is a PhD student at the Environmental Microbial Genomics Group in the Ecole Central De Lyon. She obtained her B.S. in Biology from Universidad Autónoma in 2011 and her Masters degree in Environmental Microbiology in 2012 from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, where she had the opportunity to work with soil ammonia oxidizing archaea. Currently, as part of the Trainbiodiverse FP7 Marie Curie Initial Training Network, Laura plans to analyze microbial dynamics in perturbed environments. She is interested in retreating glaciers and their impact in microbial communities (bacteria, archaea and virus), both from ice and soil.
